چکیده
Micro-X is an X-ray sounding rocket payload that had its first flight on July 22, 2018. The goals of the were to operate a transition edge sensor (TES) microcalorimeter array in space and take high-resolution spectrum Cassiopeia A supernova remnant. was considered partial success. time-division multiplexing readout system successfully operated space, but due failure attitude control system, no time on-target acquired. re-flight has been scheduled for summer 2022. Since flight, modifications have made detector systems improve noise reduce susceptibility magnetic fields. three-stage SQUID circuit, NIST MUX06a, replaced by two-stage MUX18b. initial laboratory results new will be presented this paper.

متن کاملHybrid Rocket Propulsion Technology for Sounding Rocket Development
Hybrid combustion technology has recently been employed in the sounding rocket developments to support the science experiments of academic applications and the establishment of a viable flight test platform for space components development. Due to its safety nature in material handling and combustion processes, hybrid rockets are suitable for university and research institute environments for a...
متن کاملThe Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment (ciber): a Sounding Rocket Payload to Study the near Infrared Extragalactic Background Light
The Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment (CIBER) is a suite of four instruments designed to study the near infrared (IR) background light from above the Earth’s atmosphere. The instrument package comprises two imaging telescopes designed to characterize spatial anisotropy in the extragalactic IR background caused by cosmological structure during the epoch of reionization, a low resolution spec...
متن کاملFast Starting Hollow Cathodes for Sounding Rocket-based Tether Experiments
Data are presented on cathode temperature profiles, electron emission profiles under no-flow conditions, and timed starting tests with gas flow. Correlations between the temporal behavior of the noflow emission current and the starting time are made, and a model is presented of the barium/bariumoxide generation and surface diffusion processes that describe the electron emission profile and star...
متن کاملLong Range Detection and Modeling of Sounding Rocket Launches
The Army Research Laboratory has been running an infrasonic array at its Blossom Point Research Facility since the summer of 1998. The infrasonic array monitors events in the 3 8 Hz window 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Interesting events are tracked down to determine the source of the infrasonic energy. This paper will discuss a series of detections that were determined to be sounding rocket la...
